Dr Patricia Khashayar is a Postdoc in Gent University. She has been working in the field of osteoporosis for more than 15 years. After finishing her medical studies, she became the executive manager of Osteoporosis Research Center, affiliated with Tehran University of Medical sciences. In this role, she designed and conducted several projects in the field of osteoporosis, mostly at national level and in collaboration with the Iranian Ministry of Health and Education. She was involved in developing the Iranian version of FRAX and a national osteoporosis guideline.
During her PhD she developed a biosensor for early diagnosis of osteoporosis and thereafter she has been actively involved in several H2020 projects with the aim of improving osteoporosis management and biomarker quantification.
