Prof. Kathleen Curran is an Affiliated Principal Investigator in the University College Dublin School of Medicine and the Centre for Biomedical Engineering. She is a funded investigator in the Science Foundation Ireland centre for research training in machine learning (ML-Labs), directs the UCD Machine Learning in Medical Imaging research group (https://www.ucd-ml-mi.com/) and leads an AI in Medical Image Analysis MSc programme. In partnership with Axial Medical Printing Ltd. she was awarded the 2019 InterTrade Ireland Academic-Industry FUSION Project Exemplar Award and since 2020 is a winner of two competitive Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Funds, one of which focuses on developing AI models for musculoskeletal data.
